Many tears were shed when friends had to say goodbye to each other at the closing ceremony at RAC. Bob Krohn stressed the importance of friendship and what a true friend is. It was a very memorable and exciting time over the past seven weeks. Seven weeks that will not be forgotton. Seven weeks that reinforced old friendships and created new ones. Goals were set and accomplished and working as a team really meant something. Everyone was not out for themselves but were encouraging others to succeed. As Bob said before the tearful goodbyes - Always help the other guy out!
Good night Red Arrow Camp.

Italian night was the theme as delicious lasagna, spaghetti, and all the fixings were served the night before all friends and family departed Red Arrow Camp. Decorated in lights and hanging from the walls were posters, Salad Bowl t-shirts, the olympic rings banner, the “8″ and other memorable items that were evidence of a great time this summer. Wonderful songs from the play were sung by the campers, and the seniors from Chateau marched in with their canoe paddle that they made from scratch and presented to Red Arrow Camp. It was hung up among all the other canoe paddles from years past - evidence of the rich history Red Arrow Camp has.
Many pictures from this last celebration were taken so click here to see the wonderful time everyone had. Below is a picture of Chateau men with their canoe paddle.

Fred Albright (aka The Horse Whisperer) and the RAC riding staff have spent this RAC season teaching many young men horseback riding skills and techniques. The boys who ride and the riding staff each year vote for the Horse Of The Year and the Rookie Horse Of The Year. For the second year in a row an eight-year-old Quarter horse Gelding named DRIGGS has won the honor of Horse Of The Year. Driggs was purchased from a ranch in Idaho when he was unbroke as a four year old. This is his fourth year at RAC.
As for the Rookie Of The Year, a seven-year-old named OSCAR. There were seven great rookies this year at RAC. Oscar was bought from the Sioux Indians on the Sioux Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota last October while on a hunting trip. This is his first year at RAC. In the spirit of a little stable humor, it is proven that blondes really do have more fun at RAC.
Pictured below, first row, Driggs, second row Oscar. For more pictures click here.
